Detroit Region

  • Our vision is for the East region to move closer to the city of Detroit.

  • Moving our Sunday worship location closer to the city will make it more accessible for most members, allowing us to better reach our neighbors and friends where we already live.

  • Additionally, having more geographically distinct regions will help us to reach more of the Detroit Metro Area and will allow the Detroit Church of Christ to more fully embrace its Detroit identity.

  • A search committee is in place and is actively looking for a new home for the East region!

Ann Arbor Church

  • The church’s investment in the Ann Arbor region has produced wonderful fruit!

  • In the last three years the Ann Arbor region of 67 members has had 41 baptisms.

  • Since the church hired the Plagers to lead the college ministry as full-time staff in 2023, the campus has grown from 6 to 24 students and has a healthy, thriving culture.

  • The region is young, more than 50% of the disciples are under 5 years of age spiritually and many of those are between the ages of 18-25.

Reaching the Youth

  • We wish to infuse youth into the Detroit region by focusing our efforts on planting a campus ministry at Wayne State in the next 2-3 years while continuing to cultivate a healthy and growing singles and youth & family ministry.

  • Our hope is to find a new Sunday meeting location within 20 minutes of Wayne State to set the stage for an effective campus planting in the coming years.

Financial Goals

  • The generosity of the members allows the church to operate on a budget of $13.1K a week.

  • If we were able to raise that to $15K a week we would be able to responsibly add another campus staff couple to lead the Wayne State campus ministry.

Disciple-Making

  • In 2026 we want to train the church once again in the crucial disciple-making process of studying the Bible with people. For some this will be brand new, for others a sharpening in our ability to communicate the gospel in an ever-shifting culture.

  • The training will take place twice a month for midweek from late January to early May.

Mishpat

  • We have already organized our “mishpat” team, which is a group of passionate members in the church who are researching organizations that are aligned to our mission to love the poor in the way of Jesus.

  • Our goal is to maximize the church’s impact to the vulnerable by mobilizing the group in coordinated efforts year round.
